What I've been up to

Mom has gone back to work and has me posting a quick update for her. So here goes.

I have discovered my feet.

And my bumbo chair.

I somewhat enjoy my tummy time.

I totally enjoy babbling and giggling and watching Wonderpets with my parentals. Oh and I got this new chew toy named Sophie.

My afternoon

Me. My mom. My porch. My stroller. Blanket and mobile. And some tunes. Just a t-shirt and diaper.

Porch cozyness

Rusty's been wanting to put lights up on our screened-in porch for months. We finally tackled it this weekend, in preparation for our Dos Taquitos take out night!

Asher joined us for dinner. We had music, a few beers and yummy grub. We've found ourselves sitting out there more in the evenings with the nice glow of the lights. Hooray for a screened-in porch!

Back to work next week

I'm going to keep this brief. Don't want to start my day out on a sad note. I'm not looking forward to going back to work. Amazing how fast 12 weeks can fly by! I report back to work a week from today.

So, some are wondering what my back to work plan looks like. I'm blessed to work for a company that's allowing new moms a six-month transition period to adjust from mommyhood to workhood. For me, I've opted to decrease my hours to part time status. 30 hours a week, to be specific. This is going to be my week:

Monday: Work from home (Nana and Pop Pop will be here to care for Asher while I work upstairs.)
Tuesday: Work in the office (Joni's Day. We've hired Joni as our nanny two days a week instead of using a day care center as we originally planned.)
Wednesday: Work from home (GrandAnn and GranDiddy will be here for Asher duty.)
Thursday: Work in the office (Nanny Joni Day)
Friday: Off work. Home with my little guy.

So, I'll only be truly away from him two days a week. And, he'll be cared for by family along the way. That's great for everyone involved! We are very thanksful and very happy with the way it's worked out. Now, to tackle next week and get adjusted to my new schedule!

Hanging at the hanger

I'd been promising Rusty we could go to Louisburg, to the airport, and he could practice flying his new RC airplane. Finally, our schedules cleared and the weather cooperated. Yesterday was the day! Off we went for Asher's first trip to the airport.

I grew up hanging out at the airport. Rusty and I had our reception in the large hanger for our wedding. So, I was happy to take Asher there to hang out while Rusty practiced taking off and landing on the runway. We had a great day! Asher and I stayed in the shade and had some quality time with Gran-Diddy. It was so nice to get out of Raleigh and just relax for the day.

With all the pilots in the family, Asher's got aviating in his blood. I look forward to watching him grow up hanging out around the planes and taking his first flight!

Cruising in his new lazy boy car seat.

Nap time with Gran-Diddy. For two hours!

Meeting Uncle Al and Aunt Vickie!

Stroller fan

What to do for a hot natured baby? Buy him a baby safe fan!

I was tipped off about this by my friend, and purchased one immediately. It clips onto most anything and has foam blades. And it puts off a nice breeze. It didn't keep Asher happy for long though, but I felt better as mom providing a little breeze for my boy.

Asher models below.

On a short (very short) stroll

Mom is trying to get me used to strolling. I think I'm getting a tad better. Maybe.
